If we haven't met yet, my name is Larisa. I am an Innovative American Yoga Teacher who is combining the American obsession with the physical body and the Eastern obsession of all things Soul and Spirit. Uniting these things together is pure yoga - The Union with the Divine.
In this life time as Larisa I incarnated in The Soviet Union in the Yakut Republic. The Northern lights, eternal frost and developed Socialism were all a part of my growing up. I was educated in Russia and graduated with an equivalent of a Masters degree in Pedagogics and Linguistics. As a part of my training I also hold 800 hours as a civil defense nurse.
I was always fascinated with anything Indian: colors and fabrics, singing and dancing, spices and warm climate. Indira Ghandi and her saris were almost unbelievable in my world of a young pioneers uniforms and valenkis. In 1994, I moved to the US where I got interested in the practice of yoga.
I consider myself a perpetual student of yoga; with a love of Sanskrit, meditation, pranayama. I can’t believe I get to do what I do for living and I share my joy of yoga with anyone who wants to learn. My teaching is ever changing. My style is an eclectic mix of vinyasa flow yoga with a Ukrainian twist. I want my students to have fun, live, laugh and enjoy growing their practice.
I am a Level IV Dharma Yoga Teacher, having spent over 600 hours with Sri Dharma Mittra in NYC. I have multiple hundreds of hours practicing with David Magone - founder of Pranavayu Yoga, having assisted him in teacher trainings, accelerated modules, teacher mentoring sessions.
I've been leading yoga retreats nationally and internationally for several years, various destinations include Stowe, Vt, Punta Cana and Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. In 2013 and 2015 Equinox asked me to lead the yoga part of The Monstah Equinox Workout at Fenway Park. I've been invited to present at The Nantucket Yoga Festival in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In Sept 2015 The Whole Kids foundation is conjunction with Exhale Spa had asked me to lead a yoga class on City Hall Plaza.
